Madrid: My Experience

This past summer, I took a trip to Madrid, the vibrant capital of Spain. The city’s mix of rich history, buzzing atmosphere, and incredible landmarks made it a memorable trip. From sightseeing on a bus tour to stepping inside the iconic Real Madrid stadium, Madrid offered plenty of experiences, some better than others. Activities One of the highlights of my visit was taking a hop-on, hop-off bus tour around the city. It was a great way to see Madrid’s most famous landmarks without feeling rushed. The Royal Palace, the bustling Puerta del Sol, and the elegant streets of Gran Vía were all standouts. The open-top bus gave amazing views, and the flexibility to explore spots like the Plaza Mayor made it even better. The bus cost was around 30 EURO which was a little pricey but it really was a great way to see the sights of the city in a short space of time. Milan: My Experience

In early 2022, I visited the Italian city of Milan. The city, known for its high fashion, rich history, and iconic landmarks, quickly became one of my favourite European destinations. From exploring the stunning Duomo to taking a day trip to Lake Como, the trip was filled with unforgettable moments. With the perfect mix of city and nature, Milan gave a little bit of everything and I long the day I get to return to this amazing city once again.  ACTIVITES   Milan is home to some of Italy’s most famous landmarks, and we made sure to visit the highlights. At the top of the list was the Duomo di Milano. This iconic cathedral is just as stunning as you’d imagine — the intricate Gothic architecture and towering spires are breath-taking. We took some time to explore both inside and outside the cathedral, and the views from the top were absolutely worth the climb. Barcelona: My Experience

A few years ago, I had the chance to visit Barcelona on a high school trip, and it was one of the most exciting places I’ve ever been. From the amazing architecture to the energy of the streets, Barcelona just has this vibrant feel that’s hard to describe. We had a packed itinerary, racing from one sight to the next, but every day was an adventure — from marveling at La Sagrada Família to sliding down water rides at PortAventura.  ACTIVITES Barcelona is known for its breath-taking and unique architecture around the world, and it didn’t disappoint. One of the absolute highlights was visiting La Sagrada Família. I had seen photos of this iconic basilica before, but nothing compares to standing in front of it. The intricate details, the towering spires, and the massive scale of it all left me in awe. New York: My Experience

  New York is a city like no other; vibrant, fast paced and full of energy! It is adored by travellers from all around the world for its iconic skyline and rich and diverse culture. The city offers endless opportunities for exploration thanks to its world-class museums, Broadway shows, towering sky-scrapers and diverse range of restaurants and cafes. It is a bucket-list destination for most travellers and one which never fails to leave fond memories in the minds of those who have already visited. I travelled to New York in December 2022 on a Business Studies school trip with a group of my classmates in order to gain more insight into the workings of businesses within the city. While deepening our knowledge on the topic of business studies was obviously a priority, we still made time to visit the most famous landmarks within the city. London is one of those cities that never gets old, no matter how many times you visit. Every trip reveals something new, from its iconic landmarks such as Big Ben and the London Eye to the hidden corners of its vibrant neighbourhoods. The mix of history and modern culture is what makes London so captivating and its why I never get fed up of visiting. I first visited London in 2011 and have been almost every year since. The short flight time and excellent public transport system make it such an easy and stress-free trip and the wide range of things to see and do ensure that you are never left fed-up or bored.  ACTIVITIES   Having travelled to London many times, I have experienced most of its famous and iconic landmarks and have formed a list of my all time favourites.  No trip to London would be complete without visiting the world-famous Big Ben. TRIP TO CRETE & SANTROINI, GREECE After my recent visit to the islands of Crete and Santorini, Greece has easily become on of my favourite travel destinations I have ever visited. Nestled in the south-eastern corner of Europe, it offers a mesmerizing blend of both breath-taking landscapes and vibrant culture. From the sun-kissed beaches of the Aegean Sea to the rugged mountains of the mainland, Greece’s natural beauty is as diverse as it is stunning, and that's why I find myself dreaming of the day I will return.  GETTING THERE + ACCOMADATION My visit to the Greek island of Crete took place in July 2023 where myself and two friends embarked on a week long trip to the sun-drenched paradise. The flight time from Belfast was just four hours and we arrived into Heraklion at 00:45 that night. Our holiday was booked through TUI which conveniently included a bus transfer to our accommodation.
